DEHOPE DESIGN + young / irreverent COLLECTION

ARTISAN JEWELRY MADE IN VERMONT

Michelle Tetreault

DeHope Design was created in honor of my Grandmother. She passed away before I was born but I inherited her love for beautifully crafted jewelry. Her collection included many styles of Mexican and Native American silversmiths from the 1960s and 1970s. I discovered artists such as William Spratling and Los Castillo who both commonly designed with metals and exotic wood. What inspired me most was their emphasis on geometric patterns, their merging of materials and quality craftsmanship. As my interest grew I knew it was time to start silversmith so I could begin to craft my own creations. My love for the merging of wood and silver started as a few pieces and grew to a whole collection of designs.

My passion for photography began at 16 in my high school (the film and darkroom days. As a photographer, I value helping my subjects feel at ease so we can create compelling images that convey who you are.

As a master woodworker my father, has been very influential in my development as an artist. His work always showcases the natural beauty of wood, while paying great attention to details in the overall design. DeHope Design has allowed us to merge our creative vision, the fusion of art and nature. We design with passion and we craft with care.
